UPDATED: Man Barricades Himself in Birch Mountain Road Home

Police have set up a perimeter around a single-family house.

According to Manchester Police, the area of Birch Mountain Road shut down earlier this evening due to a potential hostage situation has been reopened and the scene cleared at approximately 9 p.m. 

Police would not release any information on the status of the suspect involved in the incident Thursday evening.

Birch Mountain Road was shut down for several hours between Blue Ridge Drive and the southern outlet of Dennison Ridge Drive Thanksgiving Night as Manchester police tried to persuade a man who had barricaded himself in a home to come out of the residence.

According to initial scanner reports, a man and a woman were barricaded inside 536 Birch Mountain Road and a firearm had been discharged. Once on scene, police set up a perimeter and called in the .
