Police: Park Street Fire Fatality Now Homicide Investigation

The victime was identified as 56- year old Sarah Jacqueline Kelloway.

A weekend house fire at a Park Street residence that resulted in one fatality is now being ruled a homicide investigation, according to the Manchester Police Department. 

The fire at a Colonial-style mansion converted into a five-unit multi-family home at 52 Park St. was first reported at approximately 5 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014. 

Firefighters arrived to find the third floor of the building on fire, and once the blaze was contained discovered a deceased victim in the third floor bedroom. 

The victim, identified as Sarah Jacqueline Kelloway, 56, was examined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. An autopsy deemed the cause of death a homicide, according to Manchester Police Cpt. Christopher Davis.

Davis said the Manchester Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident in conjunction with the Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime Squad. Anyone with information is asked to call 860-645-5510. All calls are confidential.
