Police: Local Convenience Store Was Selling Marijuana

Tommy Williams, 41, of 73 Bushnell St., Hartford, was charged with possession of more than half an ounce of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drugs within 1,500 feet of a school.

Manchester police, working in conjunction the Department of Revenue Service, arrested the owner of a local convenience store and charged him with a number of tobacco violations, including selling packaged marijuana.

According to police, Tommy Williams, 41, of 73 Bushnell St., Hartford, was charged with possession of more than half an ounce of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drugs within 1,500 feet of a school after after a spot check of the Tommy T's convenience store on West Middle Turnpike revealed several tobacco violations, including packaged marijuana for sale. Williams is the owner/operator of Tommy T's.

Police said similar spot checks at the Smoke Shop at 384 Hartford Rd., Town Convenience Store at 129 Spruce St. and the Smoke Shop at 245 Spruce St. also revealed tobacco violations, but no marijuana package for sale was found at those locations. The owners of each of those locations were issued a summons to court, according to police.
