Manchester Police expect to make an arrest in the May 22 on Hartford Road by Friday, according to Police Chief Marc Montminy.

The suspect, Charles “Blue Wilson, an 18-year old Hartford resident, was arrested Tuesday in Hartford on loitering charges, and is also a suspect in a May 30 fatal shooting of a 74-year old man on Albany Avenue in Hartford.

According to an affidavit at Hartford Superior Court, Wilson confessed to fatally shooting 74-year old Andrew Igidi outside a package store on Albany Avenue May 30 after his arrest Tuesday.

Wilson told Hartford Police that he wanted a bottle of liquor but had no money to purchase one, so when he observed Igidi entering the liquor store he waited outside to rob him. Wilson told police that he pointed a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun at Igidi when he exited the store, demanding that he "put everything he had on the ground."

Wilson told police that he shot Igidi three times when Igidi tried to grab the gun and then ran. He is facing charges of felony murder, first-degree criminal robbery, first-degree assault of an elderly person, carrying a pistol without a permit and unlawful discharge of a firearm for that incident.

On May 22, Aurang Zaib Sahi, , was found shot by a customer at the store shortly after 6 p.m. He was rushed to Hartford Hospital, where he died from his injuries at approximately 9:30 a.m. the morning of May 23.

Montminy would not state what led Manchester Police to investigate Wilson as a suspect in the case, but said that Friday’s warrant would provide the details.
