Police Bust Up Main Street Jewelry Store Robbery

Two Andover men are facing burglary charges after attempting to break into Goodale Jewelers.

Two men were arrested early Thursday morning after they tried to smash their way into Gooddale Jewelers on Main Street, according to police. 

Manchester Police say that Ryan Clark, 20, and Michael Fortin, 19, both of Andover, were spotted trying to smash through the front door of Goodale Jewelers at 884 Main St. shortly after midnight. 

Police said both suspected took off on foot when they were spotted on Ottis Street, and police engaged in a foot chase through several backyards before finally apprehending both suspects.

Clark is charged with criminal attempt to commit third-degree burglary, criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny and interfering with police. He is being held on a $25,000 non-surety bond.

Fortin is charged with criminal attempt to commit third-degree burglary, criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny and interfering with police, second-degree breach of peace and first-degree criminal mischief (for damaging the door). He is being held on a $100,000 non-surety bond.
