Police Ask Neighbors to 'Pay Extra Attention' to Vacant Houses

Police are investigating a rash of burglaries to vacant houses that have seen all of the copper plumbing cut out and stolen.

Manchester Police are asking anyone who lives next to a vacant or empty home to be extra vigilant after a rash of burglaries to vacant residences where the cooper plumbing has been cut out and stolen.

Police say the thefts have occurred at vacant homes throughout town, as well as throughout the state.

"We are asking anyone who lives next to a vacant house to pay extra attention to the area and to contact us if they see something suspicious," Manchester Police said in a statement released Wednesday. "It is believed that the suspects may be burglarizing the houses during the overnight hours, so extra attention should be given if something is seen during that timeframe."
