A 74-year-old woman died in a head-on crash on Hebron Avenue Tuesday morning, according to police.
The crash occurred at approximately 10 a.m. on Hebron Avenue near 1800 Hebron Ave. The woman, who has not yet been identified, was driving east on Hebron Avenue when her car crossed into the westbound lane, sideswiped another car, then slammed head-on into a westbound vehicle, according to initial police reports.
The driver of the car that was struck head-on was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Initial emergency alerts indicated that Lifestar was called for the scene, but did not fly due to inclement weather.
The driver of the second vehicle was not injured in the crash.
Police closed the section of Hebron Ave. between Keeney St. and Weir St., but it was reopened by 1:30 p.m.
Police are not releasing the names of those involved pending notification of kin.
