Passenger Dies from June 19 Car Crash in Manchester

Shelton Johnson was treated for second- and third-degree burns, but he died Sunday from his injuries.

The injured passenger in a June 19 crash died Sunday in Bridgeport Hospital, according to the Hartford Courant.

Shelton Johnson, 23, was badly burned in a car crash at East Center and Holl streets that killed the driver, Aqwan Huff, 26, the Courant reported.

Johnson was pronounced dead around 7 p.m. Sunday at Bridgeport Hospital, the Journal Inquirer reported. He had been in critical condition and was treated for second- and third-degree burns.

Police told the Courant the car hit a utility poll June 19. Huff died on the scene, but Johnson had made it out of the burning car.
