OMG PD: Public Urination and A Lot of Cocaine

A look at some of the more remarkable arrests throughout Connecticut for the week ending May 22, 2011.

The Case: A  after a joy ride. 

The OMG PD Twist: Police said that Michael Issaev, 22, stole a medical response unit's SUV from the driveway of a home where paramedics were treating a medical emergency and took it on a joy ride to a store parking lot in Southbury, driving across the lawns of several homes en route.

The Case: A  after a visit to Denny's.

The OMG PD Twist: Police said that Nathaniel Bernhart, 20, was among a group of people who skipped out on a $47.40 tab at Denny's in Vernon, but then his friends skipped out on him. The group took off at 3:43 a.m. and left Bernhart in the restaurant parking lot to face the music and the police.

The Case: A  after he couldn't hold it.

The OMG PD Twist: Police said that Eric Robert Davis, no age given, urinated on the side of a school while children were present. 

The Case: A  after an arrest in Windsor Locks. 

The OMG PD Twist: Edwin Oliva, 37, was arrested at a UPS office in Windsor Locks after he arrived to pick up a crate containing 242 pounds of cocaine wroth an estimated $6 million. Police said suspicions were raised by inaccurate shipping information, odd pickup times and unusually secure packaging of the crate.

The OMG PD Twist: Police said that Timothy A. Stumpo, 52, was arrested for the second time in less than a month on charges that he was driving drunk. The first time, April 23, police said Stumpo drove through a police barricade and crashed his 2003 Ford Mustang into a police cruiser parked on the side of the road. Three weeks later, state police said they saw him driving erratically in Southbury and pulled him over. This time Stumpo was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane.
