Manchester Woman Charged with Drug Possession Near Childcare Center

The state Department of Children and Families was also notified because there was a 2-year-old in the residence when the 39-year-old woman was charged, according to police.

A Dudley Street resident has been charged with various drug violations after the East Central Narcotics Task Force obtained a warrant to search her home.

According to police, Iris Perez, 39, of 32 Dudley St., was arrested and charged Thursday with:

  • possession of cocaine,
  • possession of cocaine with intent to sell,
  • possession of drugs within 1,500 feet of a school,
  • possession of drugs with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school and
  • risk of injury to a minor.

Perez was held on a $10,000 non-surety bond and is expected to appear in court today, Friday, March 22.

According to police, when task force officers executed the search warrant, they found and seized more than 2 grams of crack cocaine packaged for sale, marijuana, $4,160 in cash and other drug paraphernalia. They also found that a 2-year-old child was home and notified DCF, according to police.

The East Central Narcotics Task Force consists of officers that serve within the Manchester, South Windsor, Vernon and Glastonbury communities.
