UPDATED: Manchester Student Killed in East Hartford Crash

La'andrew Evans-Swain was a student at both Manchester High School and Manchester Regional Academy, according to school officials.

A student in the Manchester Public Schools System was among those killed in a car crash in East Hartford Sunday, according to school officials. 

Manchester High School Assistant Principal Jim Farrell confirmed Monday, July 15, 2013 that La'andrew Evans-Swain was a student at the Manchester Regional Academy on Weatherell Street in town. School officials said that Evans-Swain was also a student at Manchester High School, according to the MHS Redline website

Evans-Swain and his brother, 18-year old Robert Swain, were killed in an automobile accident in East Hartford early Sunday, according to a report by WFSB.com. The two brothers were riding in a green BMW that rolled over on the front lawn of a home on Forest Street in East Hartford at approximately 4:15 a.m., according to WFSB. 

Two other unidentified victims were also involved in the crash, although their names or conditions have not been publicly released. 

Evans-Swain was born in 1996, according to information provided by the Manchester school district, although his exact age could not be determined Monday. 

Farrell said there will be counseling services available at the Manchester Regional Academy located at 665 Wetherell St. on Tuesday morning for people in the community who need assistance dealing with Evans-Swain's death, and a memorial service is planned at the regional academy on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. 

"Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. to remember La’andrew. This is open to all Manchester Regional Academy and Manchester High School students who knew La’andrew and who wish to come together to honor his memory and find support in his school community. There also will be staff available tomorrow (Tuesday) at MRA from 9-11 a.m." according to the MHS Redline website.
