Manchester Police Searching for Armed Robber

The suspect is described as a light skin black male wearing a red sweatshirt, black pants and carrying a red and black gym type bag.

Manchester Police are searching for an armed male who robbed a Getty gas station on Tolland Turnpike Friday night.

According to police, the robbery occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m. Friday when a “light-skinned black male” displayed a silver automatic handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

Police said the suspect then went behind the register and also took an unknown quantity of Newport cigarettes.

Police described the suspect as “a light skin black male wearing a red sweatshirt, black pants and carrying a red and black gym type bag.”

The suspect was also wearing green or blue gloves and fled on foot east on Tolland Turnpike towards the Baymount Inn possibly to a waiting vehicle, according to police. Witnesses also described a black car, possibly a Ford Taurus, leaving the site immediately after the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Manchester Police at 860-645-5510.

not that it is pertinent to the description but i do not think the robber "displayed a silver automatic handgun" yes i am splitting hairs but in these days of hyper sensitivity in regards to gun control i don't think it helps to describe the weapon in question as automatic clearly it is semi automatic if it was real at all. i just don't want the next round of misinformation to include "criminals now have automatic assault handguns.

Misinformation is good for headlines. It;s good for pushing agendas and great for scaring people. I'm not saying this article was misquoted intentionally but many stories in the media are. The news media has become so biased in recent years it's disgusting. What ever happened to ones self worth.
