Manchester Police Officer, K-9 Take Home First Place at 21st Annual K-9 Olympics

Manchester Police Officer Robert Johnson and K-9 Didds took home the prize for 1st place overall at the event last weekend.

Manchester Police Department would like to congratulate Officer Robert Johnson and K-9 Dibbs on their 1st place overall win at the . The event was held on July 21st on the UConn Depot Campus.

Officer Johnson is a highly decorated officer serving the town of Manchester for the past 14 years, and 7 of those years with the K-9 Unit. is a 8 1/2 year old Belgiam Malinois. He is certified in patrol functions, such as criminal apprehension, tracking, building and area searches, as well as article recovery. K-9 Dibbs is also certified in narcotics detection (marijuana,heroin, cocaine, and crack-cocaine).

All Manchester Police Department's K-9 teams (four total) are certified through the Connecticut Police Work Dog Association, and the North American Police Work Dog Association.
