Manchester Police Blotter: Illegal Tints Lead to Drug Bust

The following arrest reports as reported by the Manchester Police Department are accurate as of March 2, 2011. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

Jose Bernard is probably wishing he went with the lighter tints. According to the Manchester Police Department, Bernard was pulled over late Tuesday evening at the intersection of West Middle Turnpike and Deerfield Drive because his tinted windows were too dark, and found to be in possession of cocaine and marijuana. Police also charged Bernard with intent to sell and for possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a school. Bernard was issued a $50,000 bond and is due to be arraigned on March 15.

Gabriel Lana, no age given, of 81 Hazel St., Hartford, was charged with three counts of violation of probation.

Aisha Rivera, 26 Sanford St., Hartford, was charged with criminal liability and sixth-degree larceny for her role in an alleged shoplifting incident at Sears.

Shariha Newtown, no age given, of 42 Hayes Dr., Windsor, was charged with sixth-degree larceny for allegedly shoplifting at Sears.

Victoria L. Raimondi, no age given, of 79 Brookfield St., Manchester, was charged with disorderly conduct for a domestic incident with her boyfriend.

Charissa M. McDonald, no age given, of 163 Arthur Dr., South Windsor, was charged with interfering with police and operating a vehicle with a suspended license after police say she gave them a false name when they found her with her disabled vehicle.

Zachary Johnson, no age given, of 676 Keeney St., Manchester, was charged with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana within 1,500 of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia within 1,500 of a school after police said they pulled him over for talking on his cell phone while driving and he admitted to having the marijuana.
