Manchester Man Indicted for Possession of Body Armor as a Violent Felony

A 43-year-old Manchester man arrested by federal agents earlier this month was indicted on one count of possessing body armor as a violent felon.

A Manchester man who was arrested by federal agents earlier this month was indicted by a federal grand jury in New Haven Thursday on one count of possession of body armor by a violent felon.

The indictment alleges that Islam has two previous convictions for violent felonies in Connecticut on his record - an arrest for first degree assault in September 1999, and an arrest for first degree robbery in March 1985 - making it a felony for him to possess such ballistic body armor.
