A 46-year old Manchester man was arrested by Glastonbury police on Saturday on numerous charges following an alleged domestic dispute with his girlfriend in a car.

James M. Moriarty, 46, of 112 Lakewood Circle, Manchester, was charged with criminal possession of a pistol or revolver; weapons in a vehicle, second-degree threatening, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct.

Glastonbury police received a report of a domestic dispute in a car on Manchester Road at about 9:45 p.m. Police determined that the driver, Moriarty, was operating the car recklessly and threatened his girlfriend, who was in the vehicle. Moriarty is a convicted felon and was believed to be in possession of multiple firearms at the time of the dispute.

The girlfriend jumped out of the moving vehicle in order to escape, and was able to contact the police. Moriarty was located at his residence in Manchester. Manchester police located several weapons inside his home and recovered two guns from his vehicle. He was held at the Glastonbury Police Department on a $75,000 bond and was arraigned Monday.
