Manchester Man Charged With Sexual Assault, Risk of Injury to a Minor

Manchester Police allege that a 50-year-old Manchester man sexually assaulted a minor, who was 13 at the time.

A 50-year-old Manchester man is being held on charges that he sexually assaulted a minor.

Joseph Warner, 50, of 30 Oak St. Apt. 1, was arrested Jan. 14 and charged with first-degree sexual assault, fourth-degree sexual assault, two counts of risk of injury to a minor and two counts of impairing the morals of a minor, according to the Manchester Police Department. 

Warner was arraigned at Manchester Superior Court on Center Street on Jan. 18 and is being held on a $100,000 bond at the Hartford Correction Center, according to the state Department of Correction website. He is next scheduled to appear in court Feb. 18.

Lt. Christopher Davis said Warner was a friend of the father of the alleged victim, who was 13 at the time that the reported abuse began, and that the abuse was “ongoing.”

Warner is not listed on the state's sex offender registry and a search of the state judiciary's website did not reveal any previous convictions.

Warner’s current charges stem from alleged offenses that began on Jan. 1, 2005, according to the state judiciary website.
