Fire Ravaged Main Street Building to Be Demolished Immediately

The fire damaged 801 Main St. will be torn down.

801 Main St., the building decimated in a late night fire Saturday evening, will be demolished immediately, according to Fire Chief Robert Bycholski. 

Bycholski said heavy equipment is currently en route to Manchester to begin the demolition process, which will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday. He said demolition of the building, which housed Great Harvest Bread Co. and Connecticut Valley Coin LLC., will continue into Monday. 

Bycholski said the fire started in the basement and is still under investigation.
