Demolition of Burnt Out Main Street Building to Begin Friday
Demolition is scheduled to being at 8 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013.
Demolition of the badly fire damaged 801 Main St. property will begin Friday morning, according to Fire Chief Robert Bycholski.
The fire began late Saturday evening in the basement of the building that houses the Great Harvest Bread Co., 809 Main St., and Connecticut Valley Coin, 805 Main St., and a number of apartments above.
The town initially wanted to demolition the building on Sunday, but Bycholski said the town has been dealing with building owner's insurance carrier, which delayed the demolition plans.
Bycholski said demolition is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013.
