Argument Involving Manchester Man, His Father, and a Rifle Leads to Arrest
Police say the 39-year old Manchester resident fired off two rounds from a .22 caliber rifle during a dispute with his father.
A Manchester man is being held on a $750,000 bond and facing a litany of charges, including the attempt to commit first-degree assault and the illegal discharge of a firearm, after police say an argument between the man and his father almost turned deadly.
Matthew Eric Buckland, a 39-year old Manchester resident, was arrested Monday at his father's house in town after a domestic dispute that police say resulted in Buckland firing off two rounds from a .22 caliber rifle.
Buckland was charged with criminal attempt, attempt to commit first degree assault, second-degree threatening, first degree reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a firearm, and two counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm.

He is being held on a $750,000 bond at the Hartford Correctional Center and is next scheduled to appear in court on the charges Jan. 24.
According to the Connecticut Judicial Branch's website, Buckland has a previous conviction on Sept. 24, 2010, for the iellegal possession of explosives, stemming from an incident that occured in October of 2008. He received a three year suspended sentence for that conviction and was ordered to serve one year of probation.
