Why Choose Hardwood Furniture?

Pinewood Furniture knows that you want quality pieces that will stand the test of time.

Wondering why your furniture is denting, chipping, and does not hold up well?

It’s probably made of particle board, which is made by bonding wood chips together and compressing them into sheets. The particle board is then topped with a veneer (a thin layer of real wood) to give it the appearance of being real hardwood furniture.

Real wood furniture finished your way, like what is sold at Pinewood Furniture, guarantees absolutely no particle board in the manufacturing of its products.

What does this mean to you, the consumer? Bottom line: quality. It promises more solidly constructed pieces of furniture. It's that simple.

Ever wonder why your grandparents' furniture was passed down from generation to generation and why your furniture may only hold up about a decade?

Take your dining table and chairs. You’re eating there every day, perhaps a few times a day. If you have children, guests, or use your table as a work station, you want something that will last the test of time, right?

The most important value we've held close for the entire time Pinewood Furniture has been open in Manchester is our reliance on quality and pride of craftsmanship.

That's why we've recently started carrying more and more Amish furniture.

The roots of Amish Furniture stretch deep into American history, even pre-dating the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The story begins at the turn of the 18th century with Jakob Amman, a Swiss Christian who became frustrated with his Mennonite church over church disciplinary procedures. He unwittingly created a faction within the Swiss Mennonite church and Amman’s like-minded counterparts would be called “Amish.”

The Amish ethics of integrity, self-sufficiency, and hard work were infused in their daily work - including the crafting of furniture.

What is it that makes Amish furniture so special? Careful, detailed craftsmanship, high quality wood selection, and custom construction – just to name a few.
