THE WEEK OF CHRISTIAN UNITY JANUARY 18-25

January 18-25 has been designated by Christians from different churches  as a week set aside to really focus on the notion of Christian unity. Sadly, over the years, there have been incredible divisions between and among those who call themselves Christians.  This week is an attempt to help move beyond that!

Here in Manchester, members of different local congregations will be gathering this THURSDAY NIGHT JANUARY 23 at 7 pm for an ecumenical service affirming the importance of Christian unity.  We are hoping for a good  turnout!  If this is something meaningful to you, I hope you will consider attending.

A SEPARATE BUT RELATED NOTE..............Just as Christians seek to overcome that which divides them, my prayer is that ALL HUMANITY may seek to find that which we share in common as we seek to build a better world.  It is so fitting that this initiative toward unity occurs at the same time we commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King, a man who dreamed of the day when ALL could join at the table as sisters and brothers, despite our differences!

May we honor his memory by the lives we live!
