Pratt & Whitney PRIDE hosts spring clean-up

Pratt & Whitney’s PRIDE group held its sixth annual spring cleanup event at Health Collective East, the Manchester location of the Hartford Gay and Lesbian Health Collective (HGLHC). PRIDE (People Respecting Individuality, Diversity and Equality) is Pratt & Whitney’s Employee Network Group for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender employees and their straight allies.

Pratt & Whitney PRIDE volunteers, pictured from left, are Eric Max, Beth Santos, Keith Ford, Steve Gallo, Scott Ledgerwood, and Lisa Leard.

Pratt & Whitney and HGLHC volunteers helped with gardening, cleaning foundation beds and planting flowers along with installing several room air conditioners.  In addition to the annual spring cleanup event, Pratt & Whitney PRIDE volunteers also painted rooms, stained the deck, power washed the building, organized the food pantry and made client database enhancements to the computer system at the Health Collective East’s facility, a quaint house on a residential Manchester neighborhood.

This annual event helps make the facility a more positive place for people receiving health and counseling services, as well as for the Collective’s staff and volunteers.
