Pratt & Whitney Employees Serve as Junior Achievement Volunteers

Pratt & Whitney employees volunteered for a recent Junior Achievement event held at Hockanum Elementary School in East Hartford.

Volunteers taught lessons to elementary school students from kindergarten to sixth grade during a one-day, Pratt & Whitney-sponsored event.

Junior Achievement’s mission is to help children understand the fundamentals of economics and free enterprise through age-appropriate lessons that are both fun and educational.

During this one day event, Pratt & Whitney volunteers facilitated educational classroom exercises including Ourselves, Our Family, Our Community, Our City, Our Region, Our Nation and Economics for Success.

Jill Albertelli, vice president, Procurement at Pratt & Whitney, the event’s executive sponsor and Junior Achievement board member, said, “Our employee volunteers continue to amaze me. The enthusiasm and passion they exhibited today was incredible and I am proud to be associated with all of them.”
