Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters Seeks Additional Bowl-for-Kids'-Sake Sponsors

On Saturday, March 22, more than 100 "Bigs" (adult mentors) and "Littles" (the children with whom they're matched) will converge on Spare Time Lanes in Vernon to take part in Bowl-for-Kids'-Sake, a fundraiser that's been held every year since the early 1980s by Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters. Its goal is to raise funds to move disadvantaged children off the organization's waiting list and into productive match relationships with caring, inspiring volunteer mentors.

In addition to top notch alley action at a state-of-the-art facility for bowlers of all levels, there will be complimentary pizza and beverages, and a wide array of especially tempting raffle prizes.

"So far, we have four very generous sponsors," said Andy Fleischmann, President and CEO of Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters. "They are The Cage, Rocky Hill's fastest-growing gym; Rockville Bank, Connecticut's best community bank; People's United Bank, a premier commercial/retail bank with over 400 locations; and CNC Software, one of the oldest developers of CAD/CAM software. We have other supporters who we expect to be committing to sponsorships in the next few weeks. And we're hoping other area businesses will get in touch with us to consider co-sponsoring this great event for children and the community. The commitment of all our sponsors, and of our many Bowl-for-Kids'-Sake attendees, will enable us to enroll a large number of deserving children in our programs, which will start them out on the road to fulfilling their highest potential.

The Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters 2014 Bowl-for-Kids'-Sake event runs from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on March 22 at Spare Time Lanes in Vernon, 350 Talcotville Road, Vernon, CT 06066.
