Girl Scout Cookies - I miss the old ways
Does anyone remember when the girl scout walked around her neighborhood with an order sheet to ask her friends and neighbors to purchase a box or two affordable and delicious Thin Mints? I can remember my sister asking my parents to walk with her in case she needed help filling out the order form. When they arrived she would sort out the boxes and deliver them to neighbors.
Today I see more moms selling standing in front of store fronts, donut shops etc and the girls, if even there, appear to be bored and seem to have very little to do with the enterprise.
On any given saturday during cookie season it is hard to go shopping without being asked a dozen time to purchase a box or two. Parents bring them to work to sell without the girls ever being seen by the person who makes the purchase. I understand the profit margin for the girl scout is very little and I am not sure what the lesson the girls learn from this "NEW" marketing might be.
One thing has not changed; however, Thin Mints are STILL Delicious.
