East Catholic High School Announces New Boys Soccer Coach

East Catholic High School has announced that Ty Martinelli ’95 has been appointed Varsity Boys Soccer Coach.  Coach Martinelli ‘95 replaces long time Coach Tom Malin ‘65 after his retirement from coaching and 40 years of service. Coach Martinelli ‘95 will be the third Varsity Coach in East Catholic’s 50+ year history.

Tom Malin ‘65, Athletic Director said, “It’s great to add Ty to our coaching staff here at East Catholic.  Ty has been associated with the East Catholic Boys Soccer program for the last 15 years and also played varsity soccer at East.  Ty brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience to the East Catholic program and his philosophy on coaching matches our mission here at East Catholic High School.”

In 1999, Ty graduated from Wake Forest University and immediately began his coaching career at East.  Ty has handled various roles within the East Catholic soccer program over the past 15 years.  He is a founding partner of Mariner Financial Group, LLC, in Glastonbury.   Coach Martinelli ‘95 said after his appointment, “As a former player and alumni of East Catholic I am honored to be taking over the boys soccer program. I look forward to building upon the strong foundation that Tom has created.”
