Obituary: Jillian Sarah Dewar, 43, Former Employee at Manchester Memorial Hospital

Jillian Sarah Dewar, 43, of Hartford, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2014, at Manchester Memorial Hospital.

Born in Jamaica to Violet Amanda Thompson and the late Ralph Dewar, she lived most of her life in Hartford. Jillian was an employee at Manchester Memorial Hospital where she worked as a mental health counselor.

She enjoyed reading, exercising and blogging on the Internet. She loved animals, especially her dog Peanut and was a confident and giving woman whose engaging personality and compassion for others earned her friends wherever she went.

Besides her mother Violet of Hartford, she is survived by her uncle's William Thompson and his wife Valsie of Atlanta, GA, and Trevor Nelson and his wife Margaret of Bridgeport; her aunts, Eileen Johnson and Inez Brown of Jamaica; her special cousins Nevleitta Smith and her husband Ray of Texas.

Also Aunt Eden Williams, cousins Maureen Francis-Dunn, Mark Senior, Bernard Senior of CT, and special lifetime friends Dana Geter, Melissa Stewart, Debbie Jackman, MJ, Terry, and numerous other friends and family that were not mentioned.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave Windsor. Her family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
