Manchester Democrats to Honor Devanney, Tierney and Zingler Friday

The Manchester Democratic Town Committee will Honor Tim Devanney, Tom Tierney and Kevin Zingler, Friday night at the 37th Annual Honoring Friends.

Manchester Democrats will honor Tim Devanney, Tom Tierney and Kevin Zingler at the 37th Annual Honoring Friends, Friday, June 21, 2012 at the .

, the Chairman of the Manchester Redevelopment Agency, will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for a lifetime commitment to the citizens of Manchester. Tim is the owner of has been a member of the Manchester Democratic Town Committee, is a past President of the Lutz Children’s Museum and the Saint James School Foundation. He has also held membership on the Blue Ribbon Schools Committee, the Savings Bank of Manchester Board of Directors, and the SBM Foundation. Tim Devanney has contributed a great deal to the Manchester community though involvement with MACC and the Highland Park Family Foundation.

Tom Tierney is owner of the John F. Tierney Funeral Home and is the current Chairman of the Manchester Advisory Parks and Recreation Committee. Tom has served on the Redevelopment Commission and the Manchester Land Acquisition Committee. Tom Tierney is an original member and past Treasurer of MACC, and a former incorporator of the Savings Bank of Manchester and Manchester Memorial Hospital. Tom Tierney was named the 2000 Person of the Year by the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee and is a member of the Saint James School Scholarship Committee.

Kevin Zingler served 10 years on the town of Manchester Board of Directors and currently serves as a member of the Workforce Development Commission. Kevin has led the Pride in Manchester Week, Concert in the Park, and the Town of Manchester Information Technology Subcommittee. Kevin has been involved with Rebuilding Together, the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities and the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. Kevin developed the idea and launched the “Access Manchester Card,” a photo identification that combines a recreational pass and a library card in one that was one of the first in the state. Kevin is the youngest person ever elected to the town of Manchester Board of Directors
