Manchester Community College Farmers' Market

June 26th was a lovely day at the MCC Farmers' Market with live music by Deborah Simmons.  Deb performed songs for children and adults, accompanied with acoustic guitar.  Beautiful!

Thompson Street Farm sold micro-greens, nutrient rich and arugula straight from the garden.  Tom Puckett from Olivia's Garden was on hand with strawberries, so sweet, and will also have more for July 3rd next market date.  Lani Dove Roth gave excellent chair massages all through the afternoon.  Caroline Devin provided information on healthy diets and will be sharing recipes and giving cooking demos later in the season.  Kerry Tabbert and Erica Caginalp, mother and daughter team had a marvelous booth with handcrafted jewelry and wearable art.

The Farm on Grindle Brook showcased soaps, lotions and gift items.  Bottomland Farm just down the road from Manchester Community College had plants (tomato!) and flowers, lettuce and eggs for sale, just to name a few of the variety of items on hand.  Baked goods from La Brioche, Harvest Bread Co. and Shayna-B's were also available. Sweet Pea Cheese, House of Hayes Dairy was joined by Oak Leaf Dairy with a variety of goat and cow's milk products.  "Oh, the feta in olive oil" was heard remarked by one happy customer.

Our outdoor café featured garden salads, House Balsamic Vinaigrette by Harry's in Glastonbury and Hosmer Mountain soda from the Hosmer Soda Shack.

Johanna Rivera stopped by with a demo of her Zumba® Fitness.

Educational First also visited the market with information on hosting visiting students from abroad.  The rain held off for the afternoon and a wonderful time was had by all.  Hope to see you next week, July 3rd for fresh berries, produce, baked goods and more before the July 4th holiday!
