SUMMERSTOCK 2013: Shop Local. Give Local. Play Local.

On Saturday, August 3 (Previously June 8), 2013 from 11am-5pm MACC Charities will be partnering with the Manchester, CT Stop and Shop to run a community fundraiser/food drive called SUMMERSTOCK 2013. The event is open to the public and appeals to all ages with a range of activities including face painting, bounce houses, cotton candy, ice cream and more!

All proceeds will help stock MACC’s Community Pantry which serves 1,300 people every month and is representative of 600 households.

Traditionally, the summer months are the most difficult for the pantry as people go on vacation and donations slow down. Although it may be easy to forget the needs in the warmth of spring and summer, there are many who feel no relief as they wonder how they will afford groceries for their family.

To attend this event, please donate food or cash in exchange for an event bracelet. Bracelet holders will have access to all activities and discounts on food. The bracelets will be available in Stop & Shop leading up to the event. For a family of 4 or less, 5 cans of food or $5 will get a bracelet for each member of a family. For a family of 5 or more, 7 cans of food or $7 will get a bracelet for each member of a family.

One bracelet is given for each member of a family. Food donations will be accepted at Stop & Shop and cash will be accepted at People's Bank inside Stop & Shop (286 Broad Street). Guests are encouraged to get their tickets ahead of time. Bracelets will be on sale the day of the event but quantities are limited.

MACC will also be collecting old cell phones at the event as a way to raise more funds for the community pantry.
