Carter Chevrolet and Manchester Soccer Club Launch Season-Long Partnership

New partnership means lots of donations to the Manchester Soccer Club!

I’ve never been a big soccer guy.

Growing up in New Jersey, it just wasn’t a big deal.  Truth be told, I didn’t have time for soccer.  I was busy excelling in another sport – DODGEBALL.  I was basically like the Michael Phelps of the game.  Minus the gold medals, six-pack, and Wheaties cover.  Plus the black and blue marks.

But this season, I’m really excited about soccer.  Carter Chevrolet will officially kick off (no pun intended) a partnership with Manchester Soccer Club this Thursday.  We’ll be donating 40 good-looking and well-packed first-aid kits to the kids.  I’m looking forward to handing off the goods to Joe Dias, President of the Soccer Club.

The whole program is backed by Chevrolet, of course.  It’s part of a grassroots initiative called Chevrolet Youth Soccer and will include a soccer clinic in September in addition to a whole bunch of monetary and equipment donations.  It also includes the “Chevrolet Youth Soccer Breakaway Giveaway” which is a fundraiser in which each organization can raise $10,000.  The “Chevrolet Youth Soccer Breakaway Giveaway” features a Grand Prize of the All New 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, along with other great prizes such as HD Televisions, courtesy of Carter Chevrolet.

The 2012 program will benefit 314 organizations in the Northeastern region and Chevrolet dealers will contribute over $500,000 in monetary and equipment donations.  Pretty cool stuff.

We’re already chatting with our friends at the Manchester Soccer Club about some cool events….like trying to stuff as many soccer players into one of our vehicles as possible (legal disclaimer: please don’t try this at home.  At least while the car is running.  Or if it’s after a soccer match and the kids are sweaty.  Or while trying to cross borders illegally.)

Make sure you stop by some of the games this year and support the kids.  It’s a great organization with some great coaches and great players.  And if you see us out there, make sure to say hi!
