A Boxer

Thank you from Manchester ROCS.

A boxer is a noble warrior
May not seem that way in this place
A scruffy kid peeking in the door
A chip on his shoulder, scowl on his face

Something happens along the way
He listens, he works, he respects
He enters the ring his coach becomes a lifeline that day
A trust, a bond, he connects.

He trains, and trains and trains

There is no time for long conversations
Just many short ones that silently share their pains
The boxer and coach build a foundation.

Then comes the time they have worked for
The bell goes ding, he looks his coach in the eye
Coach says this is what you have been waiting for
He takes his breath and takes to this battle cry.

All pain the world has bestowed in on hold
All courage and honor fills him now
The pain from the blows, the sweat but he stays controlled
Minutes seem like eternity, but he stays with it somehow.

The bell rings, back to your corners
The pulsing sounds of the crowds, the unforgiving lights
But he hears that voice and looks eye to eye
You've got this kid, give it all your might.

Assumption School offers an excellent education, with small class sizes. The environment isRead More welcoming for every child, and values that last a lifetime are taught. Students also make friends for life. I still hang out with my friends from the Assumption School class of 1966!

Also, the Connecticut Society of Genealogists, Inc. regularly helps people with requests on their Facebook page. The CSG library is located right on Maple Ave. in East Hartford.
