Time to Celebrate: Pride in Manchester Week!

It's time to celebrate the history, fun and pleasure of living in Manchester!

It doesn't matter if you're young or old, if you've lived here six months or 60 years, the week to celebrate Manchester is coming up in one month!

Now, trust me when I say that every day is a day to celebrate Manchester, but we've set aside the first full week of June (Saturday to Saturday) and filled it with activities sponsored by the Pride in Manchester Week committee, while many other proud organizations and citizens have added their own celebrations to the calendar!

Speaking of calendars, check out the list of activities on the own's website and you'll find out about everything going on and you'll also see the names of people, businesses and organizations that are sponsoring our week.

And, I do mean OUR.  Don't think that because you aren't involved in the planning, that you don't have an investment in the fun! We want you to come to everything, bring your family and friends, be a good patron to the vendors at the Concert in the Park, dance the night away at the Senior Dance, go Strollin' down Main Street and Imagine (what) Main Street can and will be, eat at the restaurants, visit the shops, enjoy the inspiring art and smell the flowers, and then on Heritage Day, join us at Cheney Hall for a grand opening ceremony then go out and see what Manchester holds in store for you! History! Arts! Education! Recreation! And a very cool Shuttle to take you to many destinations!

A colorful brochure is being printed courtesy of our friends at Allied Printing, and tens of thousands of them are being circulated through the Journal Inquirer, through schools and in many public places. So get your hands on one, check out the calendar and we hope to see you many, many times!

P.S. If you want to join in on the planning, call me and you can become a committee member or an event volunteer.

P.S.S. Thanks to all of our sponsors, remember to thank them and patronize their business or support their organization – we couldn't do this without them!
