Doing Good - Yummy Style

Join in the fun and help raise the funds to do good in Manchester . . . and around the world!

The Rotary Club of Manchester is planning a fabulous Swing into Spring Tasting and Auction on Friday, March 22 to be held at Historic Cheney Hall!  That's great news, but there are lots of events like this.

What's fun and different about it is that it's not just a wine tasting . . . we'll be offering great wine from New England Wines & Liquors, Onyx Moonshine, Olde Burnside Brewery beers and Hosmer Soda for those who don't imbibe and want a little sweet something!  And . . . then . . .pair up those sips with great tastings from CW's Chops 'n Catch, Brown Sugar Catering, Carrabbas Italian Grill, Shady Glen Ice Cream, Shop-Rite and Highland Park Market!

Nibble the night away (7 p.m. to 10 p.m.) while you bid on silent auction items and then bid higher on live auction items with our MC's Mary Jones and Mike Stevens of WDRC radio!  And, the evening is sponsored by Webster Bank!

How can you miss a night like this.  And . . .  here's the best part!  The funds raised go to our local charitable programs like our Milk Fund contributions to the MACC food bank - providing fresh milk to families - what other food bank does that?  We contribute dictionaries to every third grader in town!  We support Little League, PAL, Little Theatre of Manchester, and a host of other non-profit organizations.  And . . . it gets better . . . we have been providing sanitation and clean water equipment to little villages in Guatemala for more than six years.  The children and women in small rural villages have to walk for hours to get to water supplies, preventing the children, especially, from attending school.  Now, they can pump water locally, and have an appropriate and sanitary wastewater system.  The things we take for granted are so gratefully received by these villages.

If you'd like to know more about Rotary, visit our website or talk to a Rotarian, you might be surprised who serves your community through this organization!  How about our Police Chief, Fire Department Battalion Chief, manager of the local Webster Bank, owner of Pinewood Furniture, local dentists, accountants, teachers, architects, non-profit directors, and the list goes on!
