Every year I go through a bit of mental torture to come up with a list of resolutions for the upcoming year.
So, here I am at 7 p.m. on New Years Eve wondering what I'll resolve to do or not to do in 2013.
I think I'll start with not making a list of things I KNOW I cannot do. Last year, one of my resolutions was to not buy any new clothes unless they were absolutely necessary. Well, everything I buy is absolutely necessary, otherwise I wouldn't buy them right?
Moving along . . . I truly believe the only resolutions I can "keep" are those that have to do with character as opposed to habits.
Can I be a better person? Can I resolve to be more patient, less rushed, more comforting to those who are hurting and more generous to those who are in need?
Yes, I can do those things, and you're my witnesses.
From me, and from all of us at Little Theatre of Manchester, have a blessed, happy, healthy New Year . . . and no drama, unless it's on our stage of course!
