"You Had to be There"
For years we celebrate the 4th of July at our beach house that is in Marshfield Ma, also known as the South Shore. We invite many of our neighbors to get a front row seat. This is one of the shots that I took, as you can see, we are pretty close to the action.
There were many kids. Two young guys headed out of our gate heading for the seawall, they were probably 13-14 years old and had a 10 year old in tow. As the 10 year old was heading out of the gate, the mother stopped him and told him you can't go. The kid turned to his mother and asked, "Why can't I go and pick up chicks too"? The looks on the mother's face was priceless.
Each year, when the fireworks start, I always get a lump in my throat and always have a smile that reminds me, I'm proud to be an American.
