I have been watching this trend for some time and the numbers seem to be increasing. There are many reasons for this increase, such as a need to cut down living expenses, care of children, aging parents and divorce just to name a few.
I just responded to an email from a past clients. They are going to putting their home on the market and so are their daughter and son-in-law. They made a decision to purchase a large enough home to live together. In this case, the main reason, there are 3 small children and the cost of daycare is costing them a small fortune. The mother will be giving up her part time job to take care of the children until the parents get home.
Some of these situations work out, others not so much, but this trend is not showing signs of slowing down.
