“Let’s Make it Easy for the Appraiser”

The selling agent has been emailing me for a week to find out when the appraisal will be done. I keep giving the same message, we ordered the appraisal almost a week ago.

As it turns out the appraiser has been calling the listing agent and not getting a returned phone call. No one told the appraiser that the cell number wasn’t any good for a week. The agent had coverage, but the appraiser was given the wrong phone number, so nothing happened the week the agent was away.

I had called the lender to find out what was going on. They came back to me telling me that the agent wasn’t getting back to the appraiser. After a couple of phone calls I had the listing agent’s broker contact the appraiser and got the appraisal going.

The bottom line, we lost a week. A little communication in a situation like this would go a long way.
