“It Wasn’t Easy, but You Made the Difference”

No, it wasn’t easy. A past foreclosure and a past bankruptcy are not easy. These clients were referred by their BK attorney once the discharge was completed. I have coached many attorneys to refer clients early on so that I can start working with them to focus on credit repair and credit score improvement.

Three years after the BK and the completion of the foreclosure, I gave them a pre-approval for the purchase of a home. I was very proud of what they had accomplished, as credit scores were in the 700’s and a good size down payment. They were paying $1190 for rent and their new mortgage payment was within a couple of dollars, so a very comfortable payment.

One of those situations, when bad things happen to good people, both had lost their jobs within a month of one another. Though they aren’t earning what they used to make, they have wisely adjusted to what many families in the country have had to do.

When I get letters of thank you for families like this one, that I have assisted, after financial issues, it is a wonderful feeling. My favorite line in the letter was , “It wasn’t easy, but you made the difference”. It just doesn’t get any better than that.
