I can’t help myself. First let me say that I have never actually watched the show, but have heard many people talk about it, that it is wonderful or it sucks and everything in between.
I have been listening to various TV and radio programs debating the comments made by Phil. I’m hoping I have the name right. So the way I understand this, A & E gave him the boot off the show because of comments he made about his personal beliefs, but they were not made during the show, but rather to a reporter during an interview. It is unfortunate that we have a problem with someone sharing their personal beliefs. I don’t personally share this particular belief, but I don’t begrudge his beliefs. I keep hearing that he is very religious and good for him.
It is unfortunate that we are at such an extreme these days about everything needing to be politically correct, give us a break and lighten up. I believe A & E made a big mistake that will hurt their business. They certainly weren’t thinking about what is best for their business, but rather the decision makes focused on their own prejudice. If I was part of this show, I would think long and hard before I would renew the show, as two can play at this game.
