Everyone Missed the Mold

Last month I got a call from someone that I did a mortgage for a few months ago. Linda told me that shortly after she and her three kids moved in, two of the kids became sick and stayed sick. Originally she thought it was colds or the flu. She had the kids and herself tested and it turns out the house has mold and not the good kind.

She told me, that home was inspected and they never spotted anything and the sellers never disclosed anything. She needed a referral for a mold remediation company and a mold testing firm and I gave her both.

They are currently living with her parents and will be doing so until the problem is correct. She did tell me that she had discussed with her attorney the possibility of a lawsuit. I asked Linda, a lawsuit against whom, she said everyone. Right now the focus is getting the problem corrected, then on a possible suit.

I’m not sure what went wrong and who missed what, but this mold issue could have been a much bigger disaster.
