Manchester’s Axis901 on the Cutting Edge of the Coworking Movement

Tired of working at home alone? Need a part time office? Manchester’s Axis901 may be a solution for you. On the second floor of 901 Main St, above MCC on Main, Axis901 was started one year ago. Axis901 is a Town sponsored Coworking organization with a growing membership. Coworking is a relative new concept. It’s a business model that involves people working independently but collaboratively in a shared work space. Most coworkers are self employed, freelancers or former home workers.  Coworking has grown in recent years. There were 1300 coworking  sites worldwide in 2012. The number of sites has doubled since 2006.

Chris Silver, Director of Manchester’s Office of Neighborhood and Families, and Mark Pellegrini, Director of Planning and Economic Development, appear on Manchester review in May to discuss what coworking is, who are “coworkers,” what do they do and the benefits provided by the Axis901 coworking community.
