Gizmo Goes To a Farmers' Market (and Other Doglet Thoughts)

Gizmo, Patch's Manchester and Regional Top Dog, is an exsillent riter who blogs about topics such as area events, pet stories and pet rescue information.

And hi. Remember me? I’m Gizmo the (3.8 pound) wonderdoglet. This past weekend I went somewhere spectacular! You will not believe it when I tell you. I went to the  exsillent ! Each Saturday from May through October, you can come on down next to the on Main Street from 9 a.m. to noon and enjoy all the great products from very friendly local vendors. They are very pet friendly there, and even have alpacas and bunnies who visit regularly. Today was Youth Market Day! I had so much fun meeting all the young people and seeing all the great produce and crafts they had to offer. We sure have some talented youngsters around here. I was really proud of all of them! Next week is Heirloom Tomato Day. Do you like tomatoes? I do. I hope to see you there!

For more information on the Ellington Farmers' Market, you can go to their website here: http://ellingtonfarmersmarket.com or you can “Like” their page on Facebook.

Hey speaking of Facebook, does your town's Patch have a Facebook page? You should see if you can find them there and click "Like" on their page too!

And now for the second part of my blog, which will usually entail (I said enTAIL, get it?) information about an area pet rescue that does great work, or just an amazing pet you should all know about! This week I want to introduce you to CPR (Companion Pet Rescue and Transport). Patch reader Pat mentioned them in the comments section of my blog last time, so I checked them out. They are a nonprofit 501(c)3 that rescues on average 200 pups a month! Isn’t that exsillent news? They have an adoption center in Southbury and you can make an appointment to see their available dogs 7 days a week. Here is their website for more information: www.cprdogs.com.

CPR is growing as they continue to do great things for dogs and doglets. They are building a new intake facility to better meet their needs! And I am so
excited that my nonprofit Gizmo’s Frens, Inc. is able to raise awareness and
funds for them as they prepare to take on this big project. I will be at the Manchester Petco from 10 to noon on the 3rd Sunday of each month and at the Manchester Pet Supplies Plus from 10 to noon on the 4th Saturday of each month. Feel free to stop by, say hi, give me a scritch (or two please) and learn all about the pet rescue I am raising funds for that day. I have Gizmo T-shirts available too. But no tomatoes. Do you like tomatoes? I do.

Hey listen! Did you go to the Ellington Farmers' Market and have an experience to share? Or do you know of a great pet rescue in the area? Or do you have an amazing pet you would like me to blog about? Leave a comment! I love to hear from all my gud frens out there!

Sined, The Gizmo.
