Drive it Home Show

The Drive it Home Show, a scripted comedic theater production developed by The Allstate Foundation (TAF) and the National Safety Council in collaboration with Chicago based comedy sketch group Second City Communications, is coming to Connecticut. Members of the South Congregational Church will perform one night only of sketch comedy based on parent's real life experiences to engage the audience in a conversation about teen driving behaviors and the new driver's experience as well as provide ongoing coaching tips for parents of new teen drivers.

Why is this kind of awareness so critical to families and communities? Check out these facts:

  • One of the most dangerous years in a person's life is the 12 months after they get a drivers license.
  • Over 2 million teenage drivers are earning their license every year.
  • Inexperience is the #1 cause of teenage crashes by 74% of parents believe it is risk-taking.
  • Teen drivers tend to only watch the car right in front of them instead of anticipating problems/issues on the road. They don't see brake lights several cars ahead of them.
Admission is free, but donations are welcome. All donations will go to support the Jane Modelsky Scholarship Fund.
