Meet Richard Lion, Libertarian Candidate For the Manchester Board of Directors

Full name: Richard Lion

Education (colleges/degrees): Some college, Returned to college at Manchester Community College under veterans’ benefits to try to get my associates degree in business.

Work: I make the world’s coolest fish lure, www.venusroyal.com.

Why do you want to be on the Manchester Board of Directors? I got into politics as an activist when I decided the Democrats and the Republicans were doing America a disservice. They are working for the interests of lobbyists. My two main issues is ending the destructive war on drugs and protecting peoples right to own and carry guns.

What experience do you bring to the table? I have a lot of experience, I served in the Air Force, I have worked many jobs from selling auto parts to photographer. I am a small business owner, and by small I mean real small.

What do you think the town's most pressing issue is? The federal government. It has gone rogue! It ignores the constitution and can not be trusted. They lie to us to get us into wars, spy on us, give our tax dollars to their friends in no bid contracts, oppress us with the war on drugs and much more. We need local government that has the courage to stand up to our federal government.

What do you love most about Manchester? I don’t know that I love anything about Manchester. I like Manchester. I have been all over the world, Japan, Korea, Panama, Canada, Mexico, Germany, England, all over the USA including Hawaii, Florida, Texas, California, Nevada, every state from Maine to Pennsylvania, and more. I like them all. I like Manchester and have no plans to move at this time. I am not going to tell you that I have some deep love for it, that would just be BS, and that’s not my style.

What do you like to do for fun? I go fishing, I go The Hungry Tiger, Grady Tavern and the Hammer Down Bar and Grille. I go out to dinner with friends.
