Why do you want to be on the Manchester Board of Directors? I enjoy meeting the challenge of leading effective public policy that directly makes a difference in the quality of life for Manchester families.

What experience do you bring to the table? For eight years now, I have been a bi-partisan leader on the Board of Directors on the issues that matter most to our families; whether it was developing a sustainable school facilities plan, investing in a new youth services bureau, implementing green initiatives, or revitalizing the Broad Street commercial district. These goals were all accomplished by controlling taxes, balancing a Town budget and even realizing a surplus during a recession. I am proud to state that my efforts have resulted in Manchester achieving one of the strongest bond ratings in the State, reducing our bonding and borrowing costs for all taxpayers.

What do you think the town's most pressing issue is? Undoubtedly, the economic slump and its far reaching effects on our residents, businesses and town infrastructure remains the major issue facing our Board. The next elected board has to be even more proactive and committed to realizing our revitalization projects, building community partnerships, and developing work force training opportunities while making the fiscally responsible decisions that ensure that our taxation and bonding levels are within reach of our citizen’s ability to pay for 21st Century elementary school facilities, library upgrades and community wide road and infrastructure needs.

What do you love most about Manchester? Manchester is my lifelong home; it is the place that connects me to my family, church, work, schools, and recreational activities. It offers me the ability to travel New England in two hours in any direction and the safety and security of knowing that I’m living in a town that provides more community services, entertainment and opportunities than just about anywhere else in Connecticut.

What do you like to do for fun? Nothing is more fun than watching the antics and discovery of my two-year-old, except maybe experiencing those of his father… Lately, when time allows and I’m not chasing my son Bryce, you’ll find me exploring Manchester’s toddler programs, walking our top-rated community trails, strolling at Downtown Main events, dining out locally or catching a new movie.

How can residents keep up with you? Email address? Website? Facebook page? Twitter? Instagram? Etc. Contacting me through the town email @ cpelletier@manchesterct.gov is probably the quickest way to reach me or message me on Facebook.
