Star Hill Bubble in Tolland Collapses from Heavy Snow

General Manager Nick Odell said that the bubble gave way to the snow Saturday night.

The Star Hill Athletic Facility bubble in Tolland collapsed Saturday night from this weekend's heavy snowfall, according to Star Hill's General Manager Nick Odell.

No one was injured from the collapse, Odell said.

Odell explained that the bubble was the only part of the building that was damaged. He anticipates that the fitness center will be open to the public on Monday.

Star Hill opened in Tolland in 2009. The weather-protected bubble contained basketball courts, volleyball courts, turf field and an indoor track, which is used for practices by the Manchester High School indoor track team.
