UPDATE: Police Still Searching for People's Choice Robbery Suspect in Shots Fired Incident

Police were still searching for the suspect in a robbery attempt at the People's Choice pizza restaurant on West Middle Turnpike.

Update, 1:05 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 1 

Police were still searching for the perpetrator in a robbery attempt at the People's Choice pizza restaurant on West Middle Turnpike early Thursday morning that resulted in shots being fired. 

According to Lt. Chris Davis of the Manchester Police Department the suspect, described as a black male with his face partially concealed by a bandana, entered the store at 179 W. Middle Tpke. shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday evening and fired several rounds from a handgun into the ceiling tiles in what police were calling a robbery attempt.

Davis said the three employees inside the restaurant at the time were able to escape unharmed.

Police cordoned off a section of West Middle Turnpike late Wednesday as they searched for the suspect and called in a K-9 unit. At one point, police believed the suspect might still have been inside the building.

Davis said the police would likely release a video image of the suspect in an effort to identify him if they were unable to make an arrest near the scene early Thursday morning.

A robbery attempt at a pizza shop on West Middle Turnpike resulted in shots fired and a frantic search for the suspect Wednesday evening.

According to Lt. Chris Davis of the Manchester Police Department, a suspect tried to rob the People’s Choice pizza restaurant at 179 W. Middle Tpke. late Wednesday with three employees inside. 

Davis said there were shots fired but no injuries and that police had surrounded the building as of about 11:50 p.m. Wednesday evening and that they believed the suspect might still be inside. The employees were released and not injured. 

“They’re not sure if the suspect is still inside or not,” Davis said.
