It's World Egg Day!

There's a lot you can do with eggs.

The International Egg Commission has proclaimed the second Friday in October as World Egg Day. Countries throughout the world will be joining in the celebration. Besides being one of the most versatile foods on the market, there are plenty of reasons to celebrate.

Take a look at a dozen reasons to celebrate World Egg Day and let's get crackin' before this egg-cellent observance has come and gone!

Eggs aren't usually synonymous with Halloween, but thanks to the talented folks at Etsy, eggs can be a part of your festivities. On a more serious note, the Northeastern Poultry Congress will be holding their annual poultry show in January at the Eastern States Exposition Center in West Springfield, MA. Mark your calendars for Jan. 14 and 15, 2012, when the Mallory Complex will host large fowl, bantam, waterfowl, turkey and trio classic shows, displays and junior exhibitor and showmanship competitions. The show will be open to the public, free of charge, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday. There will also be a large selection of quality stock for sale.
